Grow mass amounts of algae and produce 20000+ gallons of bio-fuel on one acre. With the amount of farm space of 1/10 the size of New Mexico we could produce enough fuel to fill the United States’ need for oil.
Jet fuel, Kerosene is a fossil fuel and more is consumed in a day from the Commercial Airline Industry than almost anything else. Does anyone know if there is research being done on alternative fuels that can replace Jet Fuel?
Assuming it will take 10 years for any new drilling to reach the pump… How long will it take for alternate fuels to reach the pump? Or how are we going to convert the millions of cars on the road now to use other fuels? Will this cost us more money to convert the current gas guzzlers to something more eco friendly? I agree we need to find other methods to power our vehicle and homes, but to say no new drilling because it will take years to reach the end user???? I am seriously inquiring about an estimate on how long it will take for alternative fuels to reach my vehicle. Are we really going to continue to send money over seas while we scramble for new energy sources?
Here are my thoughts on changes that everybody should make. 1. Having less kids. (world’s population is out of control) 2. Living in apartments in large urban centers. (less urban sprawl, uncontrolled growth of suburbs pushing out wildlife habitat) 3. Buying local produce as much as possible (less fuel used to transport) 4. Stop buying so much disposable stuff [...]
Alternative fuel research is a top priority, but if there were someone who would discover this alternative method wouldn’t it be stamped out by Big Oil? Don’t the major oils companies have enough influence to say, we’re going to lose too much money on this, don’t produce it yet to the government? What do you [...]
With the Climate Bill and Clean Water Act under discussion, the push for alternative fuels has never been greater. In this report, the Monitor’s Ryan Naquin shows how one biofuels company is educating farmers how they can produce biofuel in their own backyards.
