I’m looking for something about alternative fuels in general or any one specific fuel.

me and my friend were talkin about this (one of them really had to go =]) and im woundering if *** can be used as an alternative fuel source?

also, what other weird stuff could be used? i heard one guy used leftover oils and stuff from a nearby chinese restaurant to fuel his car. lol i bet that exhast smelled good.

I need solid proof! I am a college student doing a research paper for a class so please include references ie. websites where I can pull up the information.

Now let be real! It cost fossil fuel to plant, harvest, transport, and produce most if not all alternative fuels including solar energy. I am looking for the report or study that gives the information.

There are no alternative fuel stations within 100 miles of where I live… as a matter of fact, there are no dealers that sell hybrid vehicles in that radius either. I’m out of ideas. I’ve sent e-mails. I’ve signed petitions. What’s next?

With all the focus on alternative fuels, natural gas is a very good solution. Most of the natural gas in the US is domestically produced here, and can take a big bite out of our dependence on foriegn oil. I drive over 600 miles a week in my Honda GX (NGV), and I pay around 2$ a gallon for fuel.

I live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and it gets really cold up here. The particular town I live in is the 4th coldest city in the continental US, and the second snowiest.

I would very much like to be as green and eco-friendly as possible, and that means that when I get my first car I would like to convert it to run on alternative fuels.However, other people I’ve talked to up here say that cars just won’t start if they’re running biodiesel and the temperature is below freezing (which it is about 6 months out of the year).

So what is a good way to run “green gas” in very cold climates? How much would it cost to implement?
Vegetable oil was my original thought, but one of my friends who runs it says that he can’t use it in the winter either, and he lives 200 miles south of me.

What actually works-and more importantly, what is keeping people from using it? Are the costs of producing another type of fuel actually more than what crude oil costs now? Are there any serious projects you know of to use an alternative power source at any industrial plants?

I’ve been researching some on alternative fuels lately, namely E85 and CNG. And so far, it doesn’t look like our 2000 Buick Century will run on any of them. Is this true? And where can I find concrete documentation if it will run on one? Also, any idea of how much conversion for certain alternative fuels might cost for a 2000 Buick Century?

Imagine you are OPEC, you are smart enough to create the largest monopoly in the history of the world, and therefore you quickly realize that climate change is a serious issue and even though you have infinitely deep pockets, you realize that this will be an issue for you too. So how do you, in one simple action, get the ENTIRE world to switch from fossil fuels to alternative sources for their energy needs?

You increase the price of fossil fuels, or rather increase the price of your product. You do so incrementally and slowly to avoid a potential economic DISASTER, which could cripple the world entirely. Paying close attention to the global economic situation and adjusting the prices weekly as needed to maintain an acceptable level of… well panic. At the same time you set aside your record profits for use later. Rather than straining yourself, to find alternative sources, you allow the panic stricken and desperate people to do the work for you, and when a viable solution is produced
… one which will meet your most important requirement, which is that it must not be easy to produce for the average consumer, allowing you to maintain you energy monopoly. Once a viable alternative is found, you quickly step in a buy up the technology with the money you have made from increasing oil prices and still have more than enough left over to further develop this technology. Thus securing your position of power for generations to come.

- There is no oil shortage, its all BS, there are still a ton of oil reserves left.

- Smart cars are much safer than an SUV, check the safety stats before you post such BS.

- Peugot has a hatchback car on sale in Europe that has a 0.6 or 1.09 (can’t remember which it is) liter diesel engine that gets 60mpg and while it does not accelerate like a V12 Mustang with three superchargers or like a Cadillac Escalade with a V8, 10 liter supercharged engine, it does more than enough for what the average demands of a daily commuter car are in America and at 60mpg!

If the EPA does not want drilling off the coasts and in Alaska, then why don’t they investment in alternative fuel technologies or install hydrogen pumps in fueling stations? Stop preventing and start providing a solution to the problem!
