Oil reserves stil have another 100 years supply..but us burning them is kiling species all the time, and who knows, maybe humans are next..!? some alternatives are hydrogen, hybrid cars (half battery,half internal combustion engine) extended range electirc engine (95% battery 5% engine)
people also run engines off corn (ethanol) and also, vegtable oil, which you can run straight through a diesel engine without any modifcations.
