Other than converting my truck to alternative fuel sources, how can I increase my gas mileage?
A friend told me a tonneau cover will help. Any other ideas?

Inflate tires to maximum pressure. Use summer tread radial tires. Change oil and filters as recommended.
make believe you have an egg shell between your foot and gas pedal and try not to break it as you accelerate.
Don’t lug the engine.
Change O2 sensor and get a good tuneup.
Drive smoothly and change gear early. No hard acceleraion.
After fitting air filters, exhaust systems, tonneau cover, chips, etc. I discovered that my right foot could save more gas than any device. Now you will find me in the slow lane doing 55, accelerating slowly from the stops and not driving when I could walk or carpool.
Tune-up, clean injector’s, inflate tires to max allowable pressure, remove any unnecessary weight, drive at lower speeds is the most effective….air resistance drag doubles every 10 mph above 40 mph so stay around 55 mph on freeways. Accelerate to 35-40 mph as quickly as possible on city streets and try to maintain that by minimizing braking or accelerating much. Driving with the cruise on as much as possible keeps the engine at a steady pace. Close windows to minimize drag..even if you have to run the a/c. Tonneau covers may actually decrease economy by increasing drag…a pillow of air builds up in a normal box with the tailgate closed that allows air to smoothly pass over the truck. Mythbusters did a segment on it.
What kind of truck???? Need more info!!!!!
