I think if we used geothermic, solar, batteries and wind, we would not need much oil.
It probably wouldn’t hurt. I’ve heard that fuels made from corn (ethanol, I think it was) are a good alternative. Personally, I was thinking about modifying my car’s fuel system to take hydrogen so I can run that. Not sure how it’d effect the fuel injectors, though.

I think the government is the biggest problem here or should I say the dumb voters who keep electing people who are the problem. Forget alternative fuels as those Arabs can pump that stuff out of the ground cheaper than we can pump water.
The alternative is to make love not war with the oil producing countries. We have tried war and gas hit well over $3.00 a gal.
Then there is government waste. War wastes oil, empty buses running on our streets wastes oil, truck weigh stations wastes oil, 4 way stops waste oil, unused green lights at intersections wastes oil, Air Force 1 wastes oil etc. etc. etc…….
